FIGARDEN ELEMENTARY - BUILDING ADDITION

This project is the addition of (2) classroom buildings and a kindergarten building to the existing Figarden Elementary School campus in the Fresno Unified School District. The kindergarten building was a 5,548 sq.ft. building consisting of four (4) classrooms with restroom, teacher work room and exterior play area. Two (2) classroom buildings were 10,720 sq. ft. and consisted of eight (8) standard classrooms connected by a shared collaboration space that is used for small group study or a larger presentation area.

FRESNO HIGH SCHOOL - BUILDING ADDITIONS

A new quad was needed for the students and the community. To create this quad, the existing Library and Administration Buildings needed to be removed. Two new buildings were built, and located to frame the view of Royce Hall from the street. In designing the new Administration and Library buildings, TAM+CZ Architects wanted to complement and pay homage to the rustic Royce Hall. The styling of the new buildings had a historical feel with a classical massing, trim work and moldings.

T. ROOSEVELT HIGH SCHOOL - BUILDING ADDITIONS

After reviewing the information that was gathered, we discovered there were many evident issues, but they could be solved with common solutions. Once the Technology and Industrial Arts buildings were removed, space was utilized for new classrooms. The new classrooms were sized large enough for new state of the art, energy efficient, and energy-producing buildings. A new 17,000 sq. ft. building which included new Science Labs, CTE space, a new Classroom and a Special Education classrooms were developed. Roof-mounted solar panels were installed, generating enough natural energy to support the building's power needs.
